If it’s too good to be true…
What used to be the best job ever- podcasting, vidcasting and focusing on the issues of open media is no more. Work has been… unfocused for quite some time. Every couple of weeks something happened to where we were told to take a new direction on the business. So we saw it coming. Thursday afternoon the majority of my company were laid off.
A lot of people haven’t understood that I worked for Lulu TV, also called for a short period, Gnack. (that’s guh-nack. no wonder it failed. sheesh.) We were a separate company under Lulu Enterprises, but NOT Lulu.com. so when I say my company was laid off, I’m talking Lulu TV. Not Lulu. The print-on-demand company is fine.
So here I am again. Third corporate job in my life, third layoff. At least I’m getting over it faster. I was pretty bummed yesterday but today I’m doing better. I’m going to throw some resumes out there. Ping some freelance contacts. Relax. (I got two months severance, at least, so Xmas isn’t a sudden panic.)
But it is true: losing your job before the holidays is pretty low.
So now I can concentrate on playing for keeps podcast, agent hunting, and my writing for a bit. See what happens. Who knows? Regardless, if anyone wants a midday game of Arkham Horror, let me know. I’m free.
