Progress and headache
Words:
- Project Underground: 1068 (total unknown, ~20k maybe?)
- Wasteland: –
- Cowgirl Secret Space Detective Superhero: 2390 (total 7100 — it’s DONE)
Other details:
- Tea: Bangkok (yeah, green tea, pulling out the big caffeine guns)
- Music: Hawksley Workman, Mountain Goat station on Pandora, then Sisters of Mercy station when Mountain Goat station made me want to slit my wrists. Sheesh. Emo, much? Finished up Cowgirl with Cruxshadows station.
- Time started: 7:32 am
- Time finished: 11:30 am
- Breakfast?: nope. see Roadblocks.
- Katie Holmes influences: Not Katie: another small dark-haired woman instead. Bjork filling my head with her damnable Christmas song.
- Cookie: None. Just want headache to go bye-bye.
- Roadblocks: Migraine. Annoyance at low wordcount yesterday.
Cowgirl Secret Space Detective Superhero is done, and I’m pleased with it. Going to let it sit for a week and then edit it – it needs to be cut down a LOT, but I know where I can trim. Just glad it’s done.
In other news, I watched Stranger Than Fiction last night. I have decided I want to be King of the Lanes. Or King of the Trolls. And I want to be a baker just so a cute boy can bring me flours.
I wish the movie had explored the “little did he know” bit more. I need to learn* more about 3rd person omniscient POV: the only book I know that has done it with astonishing flair has been Good Omens (see the scene where the two nuns are discussing where the Antichrist has been delivered, both thinking they’re communicating well and instead they’re completely off the mark. We jump effortlessly from head to head without blinking. It’s beautiful.)
* Not that I expect a movie to teach me about the finer aspects of POV, but honestly, I never considered those four words to be the indication of 3rd person omniscient before.
