I also concur with what you said about writing magazines. I subscribed to Writer’s Digest for a year but let it run out after finding the information more redundant than helpful.
Hope you have a blast at Balticon. Sorry I have to miss it.
Enjoyed the China Mieville interview. Nice to hear someone speak up against the Hemingway/Elmore Leonard disciples who are convinced good prose always has to be terse and adverb-free. Reminds me of that quote from Angela Carter: “I know I write overblown, purple, self-indulgent prose, but so [expletive deleted] what?”.
