Going into hiding for a while
I am sad to say I have failed in keeping a balance in my life. I looked at my to do list today and freaked when I realized that a good majority of it is stacked with things to do for other people. Narration, story donation, voice acting, email interviews, etc. The sad news is that I recently lost my Suicide Girls column as they shut down their paid (writing) content except for interviews, and that was a good percentage of my income, so I’m hunting for more freelance. I’m going to have to fill my time with more work that brings in money and less unpaid work that are favors for others. I hate to put it that way, but it’s economics.
Oh, and yeah, our AC unit broke and we had to replace it. Argh.
If I have said yes to a request of yours already, I will do it. Don’t worry about that. If I haven’t yet answered an outstanding request of yours, I probably will do it. But I’m saying no to most new requests for the time being (I say “most” to give myself the out – never say never and all that). I need to get into a good rhythm of paying work before I devote more time to contributing to others’ projects. I’m sorry to have to say this, but I really don’t see another way.
And the title, “going into hiding” is a bit misleading, as I’m going nowhere, and you will still hear from me on my blogs and podcasts. I just can’t work on any more projects.
