Sunday I decided getting back into running would get me into better shape for kung fu, so I started the Couch 2 5K plan again. I’d done it a couple of years ago and was very pleased with the outcome. I even ran in a 5K race. Haven’t raced since high school.

It was 25 degrees so I bundled up with long sleeves, long underwear, sweatpants, light running jacket, two hoods and a scarf. (My ears get screamingly painful if cold air blows in them. It’s my weakness. Don’t tell Voldemort.) And I actually did it. I ran for 30 min in the very cold weather, followed up by 50 push ups and a hot hot shower. I was proud and resolute to run again this morning.

Of course, this morning I woke up at 6am with a migraine, which didn’t ease till I took meds and went to the chiropractor and then for a massage. So I’m feeling better now, but the mid-thirties weather with gusting winds have taken all my oomph out of running. SO I guess I’ll run tomorrow and Friday to keep with my week 1. Sigh.

    What’s your distance/speed? Did you go non-stop or wun/walk? 30 mins non-stop right out the gate is impressive.
