Billy Jo didn’t know what to do when she realized her toddler, Randy, was controlling the weather.

The meeting of the Young Ladies’ Baking and World Domination Club came to order as usual, but because Miss Peabody was out sick, this time the meeting had to be chaperoned by Coach Wilkins.

“Peter, put down that penguin, you don’t know where it’s been!” his mother yelled.

The memories were so clear sometimes – like the time her boyfriend from college would get a gleam in his eye when he would talk about the “high pro-glow” that cannibals supposedly got.

“Shaman, you need to take this baby’s soul back; you’ve given her the soul of an assassin,” my father said to the rheumy-eyed little man.

Mama told me her totem was the slug, and I didn’t want to believe it – especially when she said that, me being her first daughter, it was destined to be my totem as well.
